Moving with the times

The protest was so successful the aquarium started to lose money. After many Consultations and strong arguments with the angry owner, the curator called a press conference. He told Tina to be present. Putting on his pleasant public face, he announced, “The aquarium is moving with the times. We are turning the Dolphin Pool into a Human Pool,” He paused. Nobody spoke.

“Crookhaven will have a state-of-the-art swimming pool with a flume and a wave machine.”

“What will happen to Daisy? asked a reporter.

“We shall put her back in the sea.”

“Will she survive after spending so much time in captivity?”

“I will hand you over to Tina, her trainer, to answer that question.

“I have been in touch with International Wildlife Watch and we are making plans to take Daisy to an enclosure in a quiet bay where she will learn to catch fish again. When the time is right we shall set her free” responded Tina.

“Won’t that cost a lot of money?”

         “Who will pay?”

“When International Wildlife Watch set up their FREE DAISY campaign, it received a very generous donation that will cover most of the costs,” replied Tina.

“Who will look after Daisy whilst she is being rehabilitated?”

“I will,” said Tina, “And I will he helped by Debra - the friend of the dolphin we called Star”

“Where exactly will you take Daisy?”

         “To Lighthouse Bay.”

And that is what happened......except that the release of Daisy did not go exactly according to plan.
