SUMMARY
Humans have a unique relationship with dolphins because of their brain size and intelligence. Encounters with these delightful sea mammals induces a feeling of well-being. Dolphins turn work into play and have a proven record of improving memory and helping those with learning difficulties.
IDEAL (Integrated Dolphin Education And Learning) uses the mentally stimulating power of dolphins to help children of all abilities to improve literacy. PART 1
In this section Dilo the dolphin is introduced and the basis and evolution of language is examined. The reader also finds out about the mental processes involved in learning and how dolphins stimulate the brain and mobilise mental processes that link written and spoken words to objects and activities. The role parents, families and mentors can play, especially in children with mental/medical conditions such as autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, and how to relate to the so-called Indigo children are also explained.
PART 2
This section is devoted to teaching techniques and includes a step by-step guide on how to run IDEAL classes and evaluate progress using standard assessment tests (SATS).
PART 3
A bi-product of IDEAL is a greater understanding of the lives of dolphins, and the importance of conserving the rich and varied life of the oceans. The creation of Website Warriors empowers everyone who can use a computer and has a command of English to play a role in safeguarding the seas.
PART 4
A generation is growing up which is using its brains in new ways. At the same time spiritual values are being revised. Identifying these traits has led to the recognition that the current rigid approach to education is inappropriate for students who are highly mentally and physically active and want to change the world.
